Food with Mercury
Mercury is a highly toxic element. Mercury causes a serious growth problems for baby. It is found in polluted water. Be careful when you eat marine animal such as,
- Shark
- Swordfish
- King mackerel
- Tuna
Raw and uncooked food
Raw or uncooked eggs are not safe to consume during pregnancy because raw eggs are contaminated with salmonella. You can find raw egg in,





- Salad dressing
- Scrambled egg
- Egg pouch
- Mayonnaise
- Cake icing
So always make a habit to read a label, and use pasteurized egg and egg products.
Caffeine





Normally people consume caffeine via, coffee, tea, soft drink, and cocoa. Research shows that pregnant women should limit consumption of coffee to 1-2 cups (250-475ml) in a day. Caffeine can easily transfer through the placenta and can cause metabolism issues in fetus, so have a decaf option or limit your caffeine intake. Also high caffeine intake can limit fetal growth and cause low birth weight.
Raw sprout





Raw sprouts seem to be healthy but you get easily infected with salmonella bacteria, try to consume food in cooked form.
Unwashed produce





Unwashed fruits and vegetables contain several bacteria and parasites, such as E.coli, toxoplasma. You can get infection through the raw salad, sandwich, etc.. This bacteria have a serious effect on unborn babies, like serious brain and eye development problems. You can only get rid of this bacteria by washing, peeling, and cooking.
Raw and unpasteurized milk, cheese and fruit juice
Unpasteurized milk, cheese, and fruit juice can have various types of bacteria and parasites so please completely avoid it or use pasteurized ones.
Alcohol





Pregnant women should completely avoid alcohol. Because alcohol can cause serious complications like premature birth and stillbirth. It can also cause Fetal alcohol syndrome-like facial deformity, heart defect or intellectual deformity. Even a small amount of alcohol can negatively impact on baby’s brain. So say no amount of alcohol if you are pregnant.
Junk food
Eating junk food like, pizza, burger, deep-fried food, and sugary food have a serious effect on the mother’s health and later on baby’s health. This may increase the risk of gestational diabetes, overweight, and other complications.
